Do you or someone you know enjoy a good bit of knitting? What about a spot of crocheting? Well, we need your help!
As part of our charity fundraising efforts at this year’s Can’t Stop the Serenity screening, we’re hoping to sell or auction off a Jayne hat or two. But since none of the crew here can knit, we’re reaching out to the wider Melbourne crafting community to help us out.
The charity is Equality Now, who work for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists, Equality Now documents violence and discrimination against women and mobilizes international action to support their efforts to stop these human rights abuses.

We’re also interested in other Firefly inspired goodies, if folks are keen and willing. We’ve seen lots of super cool crafty inspirations around the verse… here’s just a sampling!
Some Firefly themed knitting patterns are here (knitted Serenity, scarf and more), here (hair clips), here (crochet Jayne hat), and here (Saffron shawl).
If you’re interested in helping out, send us a wave! We may even be able to get some Browncoat Stitch ‘n’ Bitch sessions going if there’s interest! 🙂

I can knit perhaps 1 or 2. I do like Jane!
That would be awesome! Thanks!!
